LEMME SPIN YOU A TALE OF FIRE AND STEEL...
Way back when in the good old days of 2003, Sierra Entertainment put their powerhouse of a pocket studio Swingin' Ape Studios onto a robust, explosive, and adventurous idea: Create a new IP for the then-fresh 6th generation of consoles to kick off the decade right that had all the entertainment, appeal, and longevity the big boys had.

And they TOTALLY knocked 2 of those out of the park with this one. The last bit they hit a snag though.

See this poor gem of electronic entertainment had the misfortune of releasing in November of 2003.

AIN'T THAT SOME ****? (I'd also like to take this chance to remind you 2003 was a beautiful year for games in general)

That along with TERRIBLE marketing and releasing the same day/month as some of the heavy hitters of 2003's Holiday season, Metal Arms dissolved into obscurity. And then Swingin' Apes was bought by Blizzard, of ALL people, and any hope of a sequel was dashed. And thats lame.

So I'd like to get it some of the recognition it deserves. I'm sure plenty of you know about this, played it, but I know a lot more don't even bat an eye at the name.

And thats my piece on Metal Arms. Congrats on reading my essay on it. \o/

Genre: 3PS/Action
Length: A solid 6-8 hours, depending on skill. Can be speedrun'd in under 4 though.
Consoles: PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, Xbox LIVE Arcade (classics)
