I already mentioned this to SoulSilver, but I figured I'd make this official request finally. For some reason I just imagine I'd really, really enjoy watching him play this.

This game is seriously one of the best platformers for N64. It's a 3D sequel to some great NES Mystical Ninjas. It is unique to its series because it is the only game in the line to be a 3rd person platformer, as opposed to a side-scrolling platformer/fighter. It even had side scrolling sequel that was a pretty fun game in the same spirit.

It's difficult to explain just why exactly this game is so great, but I can attempt to show you by explaining it thusly: It is a game based in Feudal Japan in which a ninja, Goemon, and his buddy Ebisumaru go on an adventure, meeting two new friends (which you get to play as) and fighting many odd creatures. Also, there's robot fighting... Yeah. It's a very quirky game, loaded with Japanese comedy, and the localization team that translated it to English definitely caught the spirit of the original writers and made it just as enjoyable in English as I'd imagine in Japanese.. Anyway, I'll stop rambling on and just share some video clips.

There's only one trouble... This game, for one reason or another, is extremely difficult to get working on an emulator... and appears nearly impossible to get it running without lag. You can find a copy no problem, but there's something about the game's 3D engine that just isn't supported by Project64 and the like. I seriously spent two hours or so looking for a fix. There's all sorts of plug-ins people suggest, but generally it seems to depend on what set-up you're using for your computer. It puzzles the mind sometimes... Love this game though, so I really hope it can be sorted out!

And for those that would like to see some gameplay:

I've seen this, it looks pretty playable. If nobody else has picked it up in a few weeks I might give it a go.

I'd love to do it as well, since Haunted asked me first, that being said, depends on clearing a few games first, if I can get 1 or 2 out of the way before dope decides he wants to try I'd be happy to stream it provided we can be pointed in the direction of best emulator and guides to get it kinda working well.

So I put another hour into trying to get it to at least boot up in Project64 and it just refuses to work for me (It says 'emulation started' at the bottom but it's just a black screen that lags a bit). So I thought I'd just offer the information I found on it... (Implying the internet is overflowing with information on it).

A link to the plug-in that is supposedly supposed to work. (You can log-in to get the download with ogdred//dope)

A video with settings that make it run smoother.

I'll try and look for more information on it when I have more time, but apparently the best method is just having the cartridge.
